I don't know if you can tell, but I'm wearing one of my favorite red lipsticks from MAC from their Viva Glam collection called Cyndi! It's a really wearable red, I like that it's not too dark or intense. I wanted to get creative with the limited amount of clothes I have in my dorm and decided to turn this dress into a skirt!

I'm so in love with the Sam Edelman Sophie wedges, I really want the one black one as well but I'll just have to wait until that one goes on sale...

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has got to be one of the biggest events among the people of our generation today who appreciates good music & style , discovering new things, and being in the presence of just plain, old, enjoyable company. Ever since a few years back, I've been hearing about all the amazing time and experience my friends have had at this music festival and I've been wanting to go! I see the line up every year and see some of my favorite performers as well as many new ones I've never heard of and it makes me so sad that I still haven't had the chance to go :(

Even if the weather is crazy, I think it would be such an amazing experience to have while I'm young! It's definitely on the top 10 of my list of things to do before I die and hopefully I can cross it off sometime soon in the very near future.

Personally, I've never been to Coachella but if you're one of the lucky people who bought your tickets for this year, here are some inspirational photos to help you figure out what to pack for your trip in the desert!

I don't know what it is about these jeggings but despite the fact that they're a little too big for me on the waist I wear them almost everywhere! I really like the way it looks when I roll up the bottom of them, but this time I had to roll it up another time to make it fit better with the wedges.

Outfit of the Day: Bright Dress for a Gloomy Day

This is actually a post a meant to put up last week, but I forgot... Anyways, the weather was pretty gloomy all week except during lunch time so I decided to cheer myself up with something bright. I really like the deep v-cut on the back of this dress but unfortunately it was too cold for me to show it off!

Happy Birthday Lydia!

We went to a newly located, old favorite of the town for dinner to celebrate my friend Lydia's birthday this past weekend and I didn't realize how much I liked their food until I came home and started craving it again! The dish I had was called Camarones a La Diabla and it was pretty good and the restaurant had a really homey atmosphere which made it even more fun to spend time with friends.

And once again, happy birthday Lydia!

Tutorial: Donut/Sock Bun

Lately, I've seen a lot of these donut/sock bun hair styles around and so I figured I'd do a tutorial for those of you in the dark! It's typically easier for someone with thinner hair and less short layers..

Things you will need:

1. Hair brush

2. Rolled up sock or a bun stuffer/maker

3. Hair tie

4. Bobby pins (as many as you'd need) 

 

1. Brush our your hair

2. Tie it in a pony tail, the higher it is the higher your bun will be!

3. Place the sock roll or the bun stuffer into your pony tail

4. Spread the hair evenly around the mold, securely grab it from underneath

5. Starting from one side of the bun (I like to start from bottom right) and wrap the hair around base of the bun, tucking it underneath

6. Wrap it tightly around the base of the bun until all of your hair is wrapped

7. Secure it with a bobby pin, you can also use the bobby pin to tuck in the little strands that stick out if you have lots of layers!

8. Finished!

So here is the finished product, practice makes perfect, but this is how I do my donut bun and I love the volume it gives my otherwise puny bun :)

I realized today, basically my entire outfit is from Forever 21. I used to shop there A LOT when I realized how affordable and trendy their clothes are, but then I started to realize I had a lot of little things I wasn't satisfied with but dealt with it anyways because it was pretty cheap anyways... Lately, I've been trying to invest in few interesting pieces to create the wardrobe of my dreams instead of buying a ton of trendy things that I don't even wear much.

However, I'm so glad I picked up these pants because I love how bright it is! It was also my first time wearing these wedges out and they were pretty comfy as well.

I decided to try wearing heels more often, since I always thought it gave an outfit a little extra something when paired with heels. But I must admit, it was pretty hard trying to look graceful walking when the back of my ankles were screaming for me to take it off! Well, practice makes perfect...

This jacket is seriously one of my favorite pieces and I didn't even pay more than $30 for it! I wear this so often, you guys might recognize it from a few other outfit posts, it's super versatile I'm so glad I stumbled upon it online a year ago!
