If I get addicted to coffee because of this, then so be it! I got this as an early Christmas gift from my boyfriend and I think this is one of the best inventions for the kitchen since toaster ovens! You would not be doing this machine justice by calling it a "high-tech coffee maker," in fact I'm sure all the Keurig machine users will be offended at such a remark.
We have the mini brewer at home that my brother bought almost a year ago thinking he'd take it to college but ended up leaving it at home... So over this past Thanksgiving break I had my first cup of coffee brewed from a Keurig while I was visiting back home and I was instantly in love.
The taste of the coffee really just depends on which kind of K-Cups you get, those can be purchased from Safeway, Target, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, etc. Needless to say, there are SO MANY things you can brew from this machine like tea, hot cocoa, coffee, and iced beverages!
And not to mention, Starbucks also makes K-Cups in so many different flavors! Although I like "light" coffee, Josh picked out the Pike Place Roast because he claims that he must "stay true to his roots," since he is from Washington and all.... So I suffer by having to add non-dairy creamer & milk to my cup of jo.
Now I need to watch our for my growing addiction for coffee & tea as well as my teeth possibly staining if I don't take good care of them after I drink! My mom and I sometimes like to brew the K-Cups more than once, I don't know if you're allowed to... but my brother likes his coffee really dark but my mom and I don't... so we just take the second or the third brew and I think it still tastes pretty good!
PROS:
1. The water tower attached to the brewer eliminates the step of pouring a cup of filtered water every time to want to make a drink, saves time.
2. It takes less than 1 minute for the water to heat up & become ready to brew
3. There are so many different varieties of tea, coffee, and other specialty beverages you can try!
4. It's perfect for the cold & hot weathers since it can make iced tea as well
5. Clean up is so easy and simple
6. They also make reusable K-Cups for your own favorite type of ground coffee & tea!
CONS:
1. You MUST use filtered water to preserve the quality of the water filter on the inside of the machine
2. It's a bit bulky & heavy to carry around from place to place
3. The machine is only compatible with K-Cups
4. They're quite expensive
