Outfit of the Day: First Dress of the Year

It's been raining so much lately, I was super excited when I saw the sun! I got this dress on a whim a few years ago but it quickly became one of those pieces that gets lost in the back of your closet.. I don't know what took me so long to remember that I had this dress, but I'm so glad I gave it some sunshine. Even though the sun was out, it was still cold so I figured I would throw on something nice and warm with it!

January 22nd - January 28th

January 22, 2012: I had been craving seafood all weekend so we finally decided to satisfy the craving & it was well worth it.

January 23, 2012: Tried Insanity for the first time in a while with Lydia (picture above), it killed my calves.

January 24, 2012: Jess came to visit and went to Lollicup to catch up with Candace & Michelle.

January 25, 2012: The elevator is still broken, I know it's good exercise but such bad timing; my calves are still really tight and sore from jumping on my toes for Insanity... It only means I'm out of shape.. I guess I should appreciate the fact that the elevator isn't working.

January 26, 2012: The best way to take care of unwashed hair is to pull it up into a messy bun, I tried going for a minimal makeup look but some how it still looks like I'm wearing too much...

January 27, 2012: Went to the gym with Lydia to get some personal training action with Josh, it was successful. We finished with running on just part of the levee, but next time hopefully we can run the entire levee first so my legs don't feel like jelly when I run after weights at the gym...

January 28, 2012: Josh & I did the "boyfriend does my makeup" tag on Youtube and this is what he created... pretty sexy huh? You can see the video here!

My Boyfriend Did My Makeup!

So I've been seeing a lot of Youtube videos of girls/women featuring their boyfriends/husbands to do their makeup in their videos so I decided that it would be a fun challenge for us as well. After watching a few other videos, he finally gained enough confidence to try this out!

I hope through this experience, men can finally realize that putting on makeup & getting ready is not such an easy task, it comes with a lot of time and practice. So I hope you all enjoy this video and please subscribe for more, thank you!

I also want to thank especially Josh for being such a good sport and agreeing to participate in the filming of this video, of course, without him it wouldn't have been possible.

One of my best friends from college (who graduated a semester early) came to visit and I had to take note of her outfit because I loved it. I was into fur stoles for a while but realized it didn't look as flattering  on me as I thought, however, I think she looks so cute in this furry vest with the Steve Madden wedges!

I never really cared for pastel colors, my go-to color for denim has always been DARK, but as of lately I've been so into the cool, minty look of pastel green/aqua pants as well as the light pinks! I think they're really appropriate for Spring, even though it's freezing here right now looking at these photos make me feel warm & fuzzy inside.

I've seen a wide variety of cute pastel colored denim for every taste at J. Crew, Express, and Forever 21. I'm sure there will be loads more on the market soon though, I'm still searching for a pair with a good fit for my body.

Outfit of the Day: Accidentally Coral

I wanted a pair of red pants last winter but when I ended up washing them, they turned out to be more of a bright coral color.. However, I think I like this bright coral much better than it being red, since coral is my favorite color of the moment!

My pants look really red in the photos, but it's more orange-y in person.

Happy Birthday to an Amazing Boyfriend!

As some of you may already know, we celebrated my boyfriend Josh's birthday a little early due to his work schedule but we had an amazing time nonetheless. I found an irresistible deal on Yelp! for La Fondue's 20th Anniversary and knew it would come in handy. It was for this delicious four course meal all complete with a cheese fondue for the appetizer, salad, the Le Freak C'est Chic package for the main course, a chocolate fondue for dessert, all topped with a bottle of champagne or chardonnay for two.

This was quite the experience because the dinner package we got came with a little bit of EVERYTHING they offered (2 pieces each), and they meant EVERYTHING from wild turkey to marinated chicken, kobe wagyu to beef teriyaki, tiger prawns to tuna saku, dungeness crab claws to the catch of the day, and exotic meats like kangaroo, venison, alligator, elk, and so much more! When we first received our plate, we didn't think it would be enough but we were so full half way through the plate, this dinner was a two and a half hour long experience!

It was such a romantic evening, thank you Yelp! & La Fondue!

January 15th - January 21st

January 15, 2012: Celebrating Josh's birthday a week in advance because of work at La Fondue, it was an amazing meal! We got to try the Le Freak C'est Chic four course dinner package with a bottle of chardonnay, I've never had exotic meats like kangaroo, venison, buffalo, alligator, and elk!

January 16, 2012: Trying to eat healthy.... but not really; it's almost impossible when Josh is around because all I want to do is splurge and spoil...

January 17, 2012: Today I found out about Geocaching and was so intrigued I had to go on a treasure hunting mission around campus to look for two of the hidden spots. I went with my friend Kyuun, but we ended up only finding one out of the two we wanted.. However, I'm not giving up yet! I am determined to find the one by the tennis court sometime soon!

January 18, 2012: I got a few exciting things in the mail today, my moo mini cards and my very first Birch Box! 

January 19, 2012: A late-night, spontaneous take out from my favorite Indian place around town, Tandoori Nites with Marissa! We love their Matar Paneer!

January 20, 2012: Went into the health office with Marissa to take care of insurance issues and found this little poster to laugh about, hehe.

January 21, 2012: Josh had forgotten that his co-workers had tampered with his ID card... No wonder the security at the gate were laughing when we presented them with his card... Haha!

January Birch Box Reveal!

This is my very first box of Birch Box and I was so, so excited to see what I got this month!

I'm glad that this will help me venture out to try out different products from brands I would normally not be interested or easily come across. Sorry I couldn't wait to try my Lara Bar and ended up opening the package before being able to take a good shot of it for your guy, it tasted pretty good though!

I love the texture of the Stila eyeliner, it glides on SO smooth like butter and it claims to be smudge-proof which I completely believe since I had a hard time getting off the swatches on my hand.

Outfit of the Day: For the Love of Asymmetrical Skirts

Once again, thanks to my friend Ana for taking the time to hang out with me after class! I want to try and have an outfit of the day type of post at least once a week to keep my blog posts consistant, let me know what you guys think! I feel like taking photos of myself like this makes me feel a little self-conscious but I guess it's just something I need to work on :)

I've been so in love with these types of asymmetrical skirts but wasn't sure how to style them to be suitable for class and not like I'm going out on a date. I dressed this look up with a pair of chunky heels but I wore this look to class with my Tory Burch Reva flats in black.
