Product Review: Chanel Perfection Lumière in Beige 40 (UPDATE)

I'm actually doing an updated review on this product because I realized why I thought the application was too cakey for me before. I had been applying the foundation with my fingers and thought it was alright since that's what it says on the box as well, but actually, I learned that applying it with the right brush will give you an even better look!

I only use one pump with my synthetic, flat foundation brush but I need two pumps with my Sigma flat top kabuki brush. The lady at the Chanel counter told me that all their foundations give a pretty much matte or semi-matte finish and I think she was right about this one. It's also a semi-matte finish like my MAC Matchmaster foundation and I love it with the right primer because I don't need to blot my face for up to 6-8 hours!

This foundation also smells AMAZING, it's the best scent I've ever had on make up. I walked by a friend once and she commented on the smell and then we realized it was coming from my face.... I wish Chanel would release a perfume with the scent they use for their skincare/make up products, I'd be first in line to buy it!

I actually exchanged the Vitalumiere Aqua for this foundation because my color 40 Beige in the Vitalumiere Aqua was a little too dark for me and it didn't give me the coverage I wanted. This foundation has a consistency in between my MAC Matchmaster and the Make Up For Ever's HD foundation, it doesn't immediately flow down your hand when you tilt your hand but it doesn't prop up the way you pumped the foundation on the back of your hand.

Using this foundation just makes me feel a little fancy, I like to save this for special occasions like when I'm going out with my boyfriend or something, hehe.

Plus, I think this foundation makes your skin look great in flash photography! This may be my new favorite foundation...

PROS:
1. Smells heavenly, something like acacia flowers
2. Creamy texture, easily blend-able
3. Provides protection from the sun with SPF 10
4. Medium to full coverage
5. Stays on all day
6. Comes in 20 shades
7. Diffuses light really well under camera flash
8. The matte look lasts the longest out of all my foundations!

CONS:
1. It may be a little pricey for some people's budgets
2. It's scented, which may cause breakouts for sensitive skin
3. The container is made of glass, it may be fragile (seems more sturdier than MAC Matchmaster though)
4. Make look a little cake-y when first applied

PRICE:
$55 for 1oz.
