Product Review: Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation

So this is the first of my foundation review series that I will be testing and posting! Over Winter Break, I have accumulated a set of foundations I've been liking and decided to provide a detailed review for you guys.

Before, I used to apply my foundation with a synthetic, flat foundation brush from Sephora but I realized it was about time to toss that brush so lately I've been using my fingers. However, even though many beauty gurus on YouTube prefer to use their fingers I found that it didn't give me the flawless, smooth, air-brushed coverage that I wanted... So I decided to invest in my first Sigma's F80, flat top kabuki brush to apply my foundation and it has given the perfect application I've always wanted!

The brush is so soft and dense it smooths the foundation really well all over my face and even gets into the little, hard to reach spots on my face like the side of my nose, under my eyes, and the corners of my eyes! However, the only downside is that it soaks up a lot of product, normally I always use one pump of whatever foundation I normally use but with this brush, I have to use two pumps to get the coverage I want.

PROS:
1. It is designed to adapt to the color of your own unique skin, therefore no need to search for a new shade between seasons
2. Infused with the organic Argan oil to help with anti-aging
3. The oil also helps keep the skin hydrated
4. Light coverage, great for a simple day look

CONS:
1. Gives a dewy finish (personally, I like the matte look more)
2. Doesn't give enough coverage for a night-out look
3. My oily/combination skin looks shiny after a few hours
4. Smells like they tried to cover up a bitter smell with some kind of apple fragrance
5. No sun protection (SPF)

PRICE:
$42 for 1oz.

You can see the little grains of pigment particles when you first pump out the foundation

After smearing it around, the white foundation begins to change color to adjust to your own color!

First I was drawn to this foundation because it adjusts to the color of your skin; I've had a troublesome experience in the past when summertime comes and I have to go out and find a shade that fits my tanner skin. Then I'd be faced with another problem throughout the decline of summer since my face keeps getting lighter and lighter it was tricky to make sure my face was the same color as my neck without buying more colors; this seemed perfect!

It comes out white, but as you rub it on your skin, it changes to adjust to your unique color. I also like that it is infused with a serum to help improve your skin as well, therefore even though this gives me a dewy finish, which I don't like, I've decided to keep this foundation! I would have to just put up with the shininess on my face, but as long as I have my Laura Mercier's Matte Translucent blotting powder, I'm good to go!
